Bought this one after buying and trashing 8 other waffle irons. I chose this one as it was featured in the waffle episode on Alton Brown's Good Eats. This is the perfect iron as it never burns the waffles and is super easy to clean. Plus it is METAL instead of preschool plastic like all the other ones.

Took me years to find a good waffle Machine that was not for Belgian waffles! When this arrived I immediately opened it up, cleaned it and used it! The waffles come out perfectly every single time! The Teflon coating is quite well made but for the longevity of any Teflon coated product, I recommend not using metal utensils in it because they will damage the Teflon over time and cause it to break and peel off into your food in the end. The darkness settings have a wide range of cooking levels. #1 being the lightest in color. I typically use #6 for my waffles because I can freeze the leftovers and pull them out one at a time and reheat them just like toast. It does have a"done" beep which can be a little loud, but I've found it actually allows me to move about the house to get a few things done until it beeps, and I can hear it so I can get distracted but as long as I'm in earshot of the machine the waffles will still be perfect!
To date I have used it for the following and it remains faithfully nonstick!

Apple Pie Filling Waffles
Pumpkin Pie Filling Waffles
Tater Tot Waffles (tater tots must be thawed)
 

Makes the waffles in like two minutes. Fluffy but not too flat!

I have a family of 8 and when we make breakfast we need to make a lot. I have tried many waffle makers and none have been as simple to use, had as consistent results and been as easy to clean as this one. The waffles are deep and the waffle maker creates a beautiful golden brown outside and soft inside. Excellent. There are cheaper waffle makers and more expensive ones but this has been the most useful waffle maker I have owned. Bought a second one as we are doing a large group gathering soon.
 

Have a KitchenAid Pro Line double Waffle maker for a few years. The display quit working, then the rear hinge fractured and the bottom half ( plastic ) made the unit unusable and unrepairable. $300. Down the drain. Bought this Golden waffle maker for < $100. It makes a great waffle, with simplified controls ( un-plug ) to shut off, and is study , except for the cheesy plastic clip that stores the panels upright for storage. But the hardware aside, the MIX is what makes these waffles the best ever.

We liked them so much that as soon as we got home, we started researching waffle-makers. I found several for around $30 and was tempted to buy one, but I've tried going the "cheaper route" before, and I wanted to be sure they were as good as at the hotel. They are, and it's easier to make them than the directions in words can say. Golden Malted even sells their own waffle mix to go with the waffle baker. The moment of truth: were they as good as we had at the hotel?? YES! Definitely. We will now make Golden Malted a frequent choice for breakfast for ourselves and for family and friends. What a great product, and thank God I didn't opt for the cheaper models offered by other manufacturers.
 

Ordered mine and got it in 2 days ! The classic waffle maker I HAD for years , could"nt be used at higher settings ,as it would burn , but my main issue was mix spilling out and i would have to be careful or deal with a mess ! The Carbon Golden MALTED maker , never spills or burns . I set it to 7 , add mix , close and somehow no problem , perfect waffle . Saw this product ,on Alton Brown good eats video , along with a recipe and glad that I did ! the carbon golden malted mix is the best that I've ever purchased ! I tweaked carbons mix ,to incorporate Alton Browns , great recipe , mainly buttermilk and more eggs , etc with great results .
 

I am not a waffle expert but I like the way they come out. Its a solid waffle Iron. My waffles come out nice and crispy on the high setting. The Iron itself is super solid build, it cooks evenly on both sides.

After working out of town for weeks at a time and living in hotels, I've developed a strange affinity towards Golden Malted waffles. When I saw the home version available for a Christmas present, I had to have it. Best purchase of a kitchen appliance in a long time. Made Golden Malted waffles with Bananas Foster Carmel sauce that would stand up to a breakfast item served at a Four Seasons.
 

I highly recommend this waffle iron. I have had no issues with it. If you need a good Belgian waffle iron, buy this one. You won’t be sorry.
